is currently searching fearlessly for answers.
You would say Finn is unavailable in the sense of the word, and the state of our world. He does not have anything worth sharing, caught between the stories started to impress, half shared and half expressed, letters that never left, and yet here we are, a website that is mostly an experiment in polite disappearance.
Let this be a statement of my intention, a place to publish with impermanence in mind first, because the weight of free expression costs too much.
Finding answers at art school, or how I learned to start worrying about finance acquisition, Finn Astle tried finding an answer at art school, met contemporary Melbourne artists and directors, showed work at Student Exhibition Margaret Lawrence Gallery 2015, Grad Show Victorian College of the Arts 2015, Open Night University of Melbourne Anatomy Museum 2016, Collingwood Yards 2018, Courthouse Gallery Newcastle via the University of Newcastle Tertiary Arts Grant 2017, Student Space Melbourne University 2017, Paper Universe at That Paper Joint Brunswick 2022, Local Space E55 Exhibition Street 2024, Local Space Workshop Bar Melbourne 2024, exhibited Phosphene and other projects at Testing Grounds and King’s Artist Run Gallery, including a film premiere. Commercially Finn is collected locally and internationally through Saatchi Art, and is featured in Absolut Vodka collection. Art is a hustle.
A lack of foresight. Like reading a sentence that ends abruptly. Art has been a hill to climb slowly.
And it doesn’t belong in the education system. Neither did I.
University is a place where students grow into adults indebted to their government. I left art school and made films in Inner Mongolio, China about Ghost Cities. My Director and I travelled via Subaru Outback to the red centre to film a doco about clean water access for aboriginal communities.
Before wasting time advertising — I also learned the language of campaigns. I have written for AGL, Youi, Afterpay, Telstra, 7-Eleven and Flybuys, worked inside Deepend + VERSA, Chep Network, Seminal AI, Big Red Communications, and carried dozens of freelance briefs that taught me how to make something that is both honest and useful. Campaigns and case studies taught me rhythm, deadlines, and how to be merciful to a budget and ruthless to words.

Why are you here? The free expression is all sold out. The answers I do not have yet. The content is being uncreated. In fact. Final Answer. Finn Astle as you knew him does not exist anymore. In my absence let this be a memory of me.
Finding out I wasn’t the one I knew was freeing. It helped me see that I’m not my past.
I was asked to write a foreword for a book once. The book was about revolution. A mutiny, the poems felt like beating drums from the public. Commissioned by RMIT via Rabbit Poetry Journal.
When art is for real revolution that’s when we are cooking. Most 21st century art is conceived of within a capitalist system, which poses an array of problems and questions around human authenticity today.
Sharing smart opinions is important. No matter how cringe or self-seeking it might feel. As intelligent humans who can write and hold attentions it is almost a responsibility. For UX Collectives , Technology Agencies and under his own moniker Finn’s shared what stood out.

Some day this will be a place to see.
If you stayed this long you are either very lost or precisely where you meant to be. Email and commissions live elsewhere, but if the internet is a born-lonely city, consider this an alley you can shout into. I will answer sometimes and ignore you other times and both are part of the plan.
